Fun Fact Friday 4: The Dog Edition
This morning has been an interesting one. In case you are wondering why I am so late posting this morning - it is because I have spent 2 1/2 hours this morning trying to rid my computer of a virus it picked up last night! Luckily my efforts paid off and I am officially virus free – phew!
We also woke up to freezing temps – kidding, but it was 65 degrees in our apartment so we were COLD. Torrance had gotten up before me and cranked up the heat and turned on the fire place!
He said he felt like it was 100 below and he was just freezing. Too funny as we have realized how fast we have adjusted from our Alaskan toughness. Though I cant say you never really get “used” to 40 below zero, it’s still hard for me to believe how cold we feel when it’s 40 degrees ABOVE zero outside!
Also, last night, our apartment put on a “shop-a-thon” type thing in the leasing office, I guess it is something they do twice a year where they have people set up booths to sell their products. Some of the booths included jewelry, purses, kids toys, Scentsy, and Pampered Chef. I actually have a bunch of Scentsy stuff but have been out of the scents for them so I took full advantage and stocked up. I also used my super power self control to not order $500 worth of stuff from Pampered chef. Overall I made out pretty well and got out of there spending a little less than $100 which is somewhat of a success in my book.
Though I did take catalogues home to browse… I will definitely be ordering some more stuff from Pampered Chef.
After my mini shopping spree we headed out to run some errands. Torrance said he was really dying for a steak so we stopped by Ruby Tuesdays. I adore their salad bar.
There is seriously like maybe 2 whole tomatoes in my salad because the tomatoes looked SO delicious I piled them on. And for dinner I had some grilled shrimp skewers and mashed potatoes.
(Notice there is one little biscuit missing in the background in the second picture… muahaha).
And now time for Friday tradition!
In case you missed the last editions….
Since I love dogs – here are some of weird/interesting/and somewhat useless facts about them
- It costs an average of $5,000 to raise a dog from puppy to age 10.
Dalmatian puppies do not have any spots when they are born, they actually develop them as they get older. I knew this one already (okay everyone that has seen 101 Dalmatians knows it) but I mostly just wanted an excuse to share this picture of Torrance’s dads dalmatian because I think it is so cute next to the pillow.
80% of dog owners buy their dog a present for holidays and birthdays. More than half of them sign letters and cards from themselves and their pets. <——Guilty
- Most pet owners (94%) say their pet makes them smile more than once a day. It’s good for you!
- Dogs often hesitate before stepping out into the rain – this isn’t because they are afraid of getting wet, but because the rain amplifies sound and momentarily hurts their sensitive ears.
- Do not smile at a dog you believe to be dangerous. It will be seen as baring your teeth in an act of aggression.(good to know…)
- Obesity is the #1 health problem among dogs
- The U.S. has the highest dog population in the world. (France has the second).
Are you more of a dog or cat person? What is your favorite (or least favorite) thing about dogs?
Dogs for sure, I love how they are always happy to see you and are very sensitive.
Any plans for the weekend?
Not really, I plan to hopefully find some home decor this weekend…
Do you use any Pampered Chef or Scentsy stuff?
YES I love pampered chef and I love the scentsy stuff because you can keep it on all day and it makes your house smell delicious all day long unlike a candle.
