Damn You, YouTube
Okay super fun facts are on hiatus this week. I am considering changing Friday’s to “Really Random Fridays” instead.
I do have good news for the weekend though! I havent mentioned it but Torrance has been out-of-town since last weekend (I dropped him at the airport before I went on my shopping spree on Saturday) and he gets back this afternoon!! Yay, I really did miss him! He had to fly to Dallas for school/training for work so I am so excited to have him back – and so is brown dog! Though we did enjoy having the bed to ourselves ;)
I think he will be excited to see that it is looking a lot more like fall around these parts as well, in the last week the leaves have really changed and it is beautiful. As I have mentioned before, I was really looking forward to this as we didnt really have fall in Alaska, the leaves would turn yellow and fall off in a matter of 2 weeks and then it was winter, so I was excited to enjoy all the red and orange colors.
Now lets talk about food. I know you havent seen much of the bento box lately because my lunches have been bulky (e.g. chicken sausage or egg sandwiches) and dont fit in there. But yesterday I made a turkey and provolone wrap using the EXTREME tortillas. On the side I had some chips and garden salsa and grapes.
And then last night for dinner, I met Torrance’s aunt at Panera(yum). They no longer have my favorite strawberry poppy seed salad since it was just a summer thing (sad!) So I just had half of a panini and their mac and cheese. No pictures were taking because I was hun-gray.
For breakfast this morning, I decided I didnt really have anything I wanted to make at home besides eggs – which I wasnt really in the mood for so I headed off to Starbucks! I havent had Starbucks forever since we have been making coffee at home. I ended up getting a multi grain bagel with my coffee which was delish, and I havent had a bagel in a long time.
Do you YouTube?
It sucked me in the other night. Bad.
There are 3 things that lead me to YouTube:
- Someone tells me I need to go watch a video/sends me a link to a must see
- I am watching music videos or past So You Think You Can Dance dances (my favorite!)
- I am bored and want to see something entertaining
And here are some of my favorite things to watch on YouTube:
- Funny dancing videos (e.g. gay men dancing like Beyonce).
- So You Think You Can Dance replays
- Music videos
- Funny/cute/talking/smart animals
- Jenna Marble’s videos (she’s my fav)
It seems when I get on there for one of those reasons, it leads to an hour of time suck. I watch something, and then end up watching something related, and then click on something else from there, and so on.
The other night, was possibly one of the worst YouTube binges I have ever had. I was drinking my
bottle glass of wine and just relaxing and ended up going on there to watch the Rihanna music video I havent seen yet (We Found Love). That was all good and fun. And then I clicked on another video (dont remember what it was) and then I somehow ended up watching LMFAO’s “Sexy and I know It” video (hate…) and you would think I would have learned my lesson there and turned off my laptop and called it a night.
After I washed my eyes out with rubbing alcohol, I continued on (more conciously…ok not really) and decided to cheer myself up with videos I already knew were funny. I went and watched the Honey Badger, and then talking dogs, and then I went back to music and watched some Mike Tompkins (he is seriously amazing and awesomely talented, make sure you check him out if you havent, he does a capella/beatboxing remakes).
After I was all good and entertained again, I moved onto funny stuff like Ellen’s scare montages (theres just something so hilarious about other people being snuck up on, I love Kelly Pickler’s) and more “related” stuff from there. And then somehow I ended up at a video teaching me out to dougie. And then last, but not least, I ended at a video of Michelle Obama doing the dougie.
Yep, then I realized I had been on there for way too long and it was time to go to bed. Yikes.
Have a good weekend!
