The No Good Monday
I just want to start out by saying I like to keep things very positive around here! I am a positive and upbeat person in general so I like that feeling to come through here on the blog! I also dont like to talk about work too much on here, because lets face it… thats not really exciting.
With that being said…I’m breaking the mold for a minute.
Yesterday was a horrible, awful, no good, very bad day (<—– wow, flashbacks… who remembers this book?!)
Let me be more specific (without going into too much detail of course…how does that work?). I had one of those days at work where everything I touched went wrong in some way. I made some mistakes (yes, Im human) and I spent the day fixing them along with some other crap (not mistakes) piled on.
I was so relieved that when I got home from work (late) I sat on my couch and had a vent fest to Torrance, and it felt marvelous. Also I vented to one of my friends in Alaska (and old coworkers) via email who still works for the same company I do up there, so she really could understand my frustration because she understands all the processes and such at work.
Anyway, usually once I vent I can just let it go and I feel better. Im one of those people that has to talk about it immediately when something is bothering me – Im not sure if this is a flaw or not. Im sure Torrance always loves it
But now, the horrid Monday is over and today is a new day. I have a few “overflow” items from yesterday that I will be dealing with today but for the most part I am welcoming Tuesday with open arms.
I am going to officially write it off right now as a bad Monday and move on.
————————-
Move on to the important things of course, like the fact that at least I did have some good eats yesterday!
For lunch I was very oddly craving a smoothie, so when I went home I whipped one up. In the mix was:
- ice
- 1/2 a banana
- a handful of frozen strawberries
- 2 scoops of visalus mix
- about 3/4 cup almond milk
It was refreshing and super thick – just the way I like it! I also had some pita chips and humus alongside it (what a mix, I know!)
For dinner, I was obviously in the mood for some comfort food.
Cue the grilled cheese and tomato soup.
For my grilled cheese I used some cheddar slices. It was almost too cheesy for me (which I never knew was possible). But it was really good. And of course I had this type of soup:
Best tomato soup ever!
Obviously, I did not make it to group fitness last night, I got home late and was just mentally exhausted to rush around and get there on time! But you better bet I will be heading in there tonight! I could use a good workout session, for sure.
Everyone have a good day, I am ready with my coffee in hand (and PB banana sandwich!) to make today a much better day!

ohhh gosh, i completely understand where you are coming from in this post..i’ve had my decent share of no good terrible days and they suck! I usually fume most of the day and then vent for a while to Kevin or go for a good run and I feel sooo much better
I’m glad you are considering today a clean slate and there is no better fuel then PB/Banana sandwiches to do just that!
your grilled cheese and tomato soup is also my idea of awesome comfort food! Wings also help too
and french fries…and chocolate. hahaha
Totally understand those days ugh! I like to be left alone when I’m grumpy for sure. I love chicken wings as comfort food. I’m so glad you like that soup – I have been looking for a delicious tomato soup.
oo yum you have to try it, it is delish!
I hate having days like that – I totally know where you’re coming from. When I’m upset I like to vent it out to Todd but sometimes he doesn’t say what I want to hear so before I vent I remind him to not say anything and just listen, haha!
Ahhh tomato soup and grilled sandwiches are the ultimate comfort foods! I also love mac n cheese and pizza!
I’m a total venter. If I have a bad day or if something crazy happens, I just HAVE to tell someone. I’m sure I annoy my co-workers (and my mom) to no end with my rants.
