Birthday Wishes & Breaking Dawn
First things first! Another day of birthdays! Not exactly the all popular October 5th, but birthdays nonetheless!
It is my mom’s birthday today! How exciting. Sadly, as usual I dont get to spend it with her since she is down in Belize, but I called her this morning and we chatted for a bit.
She says the resort is full today so she will be doing the usual working around there, but they did celebrate the other night with a nice dinner with some friends
Happy birthday mom!
Second birthday – my coworker, who funny enough reminds me of my mom. I am pretty sure they would be the best of friends.
I went and picked her up a little chocolate cake (her favorite) this morning and some flowers, and we also got her a nice gift card!
You better believe that I am anxious as ever to dig into that bad boy this afternoon! After the birthday girl of course!
Birthdays around the office here are a lot more mellow than the office was in Alaska. There were 6 women in the office there so it was always filled with TONS of crazy gifts, and an all day long celebration.
I am a believer of you can get away with anything on your birthday and do what you want, so I will try to take some of the load off my coworker today just for that reason.
Second order of business today…Yes I am a Twilight nerd if you should know.
Team Edward by the way… if you are team Jacob and no longer want to read my blog because of our obvious life changing differences, I understand.
But really I am upset because I still dont know anyone here yet and have no one to go see it with! Wahh!
Torrance agreed to go, but only because he doesnt really know what he is getting himself into. To give you an example of what I mean I have to give you our short conversation about it
-Me: “waaaaaah I have no one to see Breaking Dawn with! Im really sad!”
-Torrance: “I will go with you… what is it?” (<—he is thinking its just a regular old chick flick and hed suck it up for a night)
-Me (way to excited): “It is the 4th part of the Twilight series! They are splitting the last book into 2 movies and this is the first part!”
-Torrance: “Okay, but if Im going to watch it, then doesnt it only make sense for me to watch the first 3 movies first?”
That is the end, because if he watched the first 3 (or really the first 20 minutes of the first movie) he will no longer want to accompany me. My new plan is to trick him and tell him we are going to get chocolate cake and cookies and instead drive him to the movie theater.
It may involve some more planning, but I’ll let you know how it pans out.
Check out what I am enjoying for breakfast this morning….
It has been forever since I have had Starbucks, since I have been making coffee at home. I got an apple bran muffin, which was decent. And I will probably eat some frozen strawberries in a bit, because honestly I am still hungry.
Last night I was so stressed out about the weather (tornado watches) that I didnt go to fitness class. Plus, I knew today would involve cake so I figured it may be better to go tonight and burn off those extra calories.
That crazy storm came through here yesterday, and actually a tornado touched down in the area Torrance was working, right as he was headed home for the night. He said driving home was pretty stressful because it was crazy windy, and definitely unfavorable conditions. The area he goes to today, there was actually some significant damage so he may have some obstacles out on the road today as well.
Okay, ciao for now!
- Have you ever experienced a tornado, hurricane, or any other insane storms similar?
NO. We didnt even have that crazy of lightning storms in Alaska. I am a huge wuss and hide.
- When is your birthday?
- Are you a Twlight fan?
I was actually one who boycotted it forever because I thought it was silly and then a friend of mine who hates reading and doesnt usually like that stuff told me how amazing it was so she convinced me to read them!
