Baking Time & A More Successful Stir-Fry
Gooood morning!
I could NOT roll out of bed this morning because I was so comfortable with my soft, brown dog. When I finally pried myself out, I sleepily made myself a giant coffee and PB and banana sammich which I am enjoying as we speak and I am slowly coming to life.
It is another crisp morning, I tell ya – I am still trying to get used to this weather, I never know how to dress! I tried to wear comfortable boots today though because I will be standing in line at the post office for lunch to mail off the Christmas cookies I slaved away at yesterday.
This year I baked 3 different kinds of cookies. I am not going to share them yet since I am mailing them off and want them to be a semi-surprise so I will share later in the week. One of them did include cut-outs of course, that is not a surprise
Cute huh?
What is not cute is the mess that was my kitchen.
It is kind of bound to happen though.
Yesterday was a crazy busy day but I definitely got a lot done. I promised Torrance I would help him clean and do a little on his tool truck in the afternoon, so with that being my only obligation I headed to the grocery store to get that out of the way and get the kitchen restocked.

In between decorating, I even managed to cook some dinner too . Remember when I cooked stir fry last week that was so-so? Well yesterday I decided to pick something up to use for sauce.
It turned out much, much better this time! I used a different veggie mix (Steamfresh frozen veggies still) this time as well – I got an Asian blend that included sugar peas, water chestnuts, carrots, and broccoli. I also sautteed some mushrooms to add and included shrimp and chicken. It was really good.
The only thing on my to do list for the weekend that I didnt really get to was finishing my Christmas shopping, but I’m sure I will manage to get it done sometime this week which I am sure will be crazy with all the rest of the people out there finishing up!

I’m actually going to go to training tonight, first time in over a week, hopefully I dont die!
Have a good Monday!

What kind of noodles are those?
rice noodles… Annie Chun brand. There is a pic of them in an old post here
Haha don’t worry, the only Christmas shopping that I’ve completed so far are the parts that I can do online. We’re in the saaaame boat
Those cookies are adorable! I’m excited to see which other kinds you baked.
Everytime it seems I’m done with Christmas shopping something else comes up! I went out today and got a ton done, but then thought of something else for a friend and one other gift for my dad- ahh!!;)
Your stir fry looks amazing, I am jealous and hungry now:) My kitchen always looks like that, don’t be embarrassed! Hope you are having a great day Andrea!
The kitchen was like a baking explosion! A delicious one of course!
I’m a last minuter for sure!!! I say every year that I’m going to start early the next year, but I never do. Meh.
Those cookies look ridiculous. And yeah, whenever I make shortbread cookies my kitchen is an absolute disaster! Worth it though
I am definitely a last-minute shopper! It’s stressful, but somehow, it always works out!
