Random Time & Nail Polish
Random #1: Kona is a cheater
I caught Kona the other day cheating on her favorite puppy.
…With her long dog instead. What a tramp.
Random #2: Scenes from Draw Something
Yes, I am obsessed. It is bad.
When I first started playing I just played random people but now that friends (and bloggers!) are on board it is extra hilarious. Though I do have 2 games going on with strangers… and one of them I have to brag about.
Yes! A streak of 82 with this random stranger. It does make me feel kind of cool. Except when you get that far you dont want to be the one to mess it up, so I find myself playing safe with my drawings.
And then there is this random game I am playing with a stranger…
10 points if you can tell me what is wrong with this picture that they drew for me.
And then my friend Kayla drew the best drawing ever of Conan O’Brien. I’m sorry but this is an excellent picture and I knew it was Coco right away.
Random #3: Feast!
The other night I came home from work and it was 80 out and I just felt all summer-y. I felt like making a festive feast.
That plate includes: a sliver of some delicious salmon, sautéed lemon-garlic shrimp, roasted cauliflower, steamed asparagus with balsamic, and half of a twice baked potato.
Seriously, best meal I’ve made in a long time!
Random #4: How’d you get that awesome manicure?
People always ask me how I get my nail polish to last so long without getting all chipped and shotty looking the next day. (My nail polish typically lasts 5-7 days before it starts chipping and looks like crap). The trick is a lot of coats and good quality polish. I prefer OPI or the Sally Hansen Complete Manicure line.
I typically dont use a base coat (I buff my nails though to keep them from turning yellow since I wear dark colors) but then I usually do 2-3 coats (if it is a dark color 2 is usually fine). Let each coat dry at least a little bit before I apply the next (or else it will take FOREVER to dry at the end) and then use a really good clear coat on top (I usually put 2 coats of that too). I have been using this stuff.
It isnt an actual “top coat”, it is a strengthener but it has some sort of gel in it so it gets really hard, which helps avoid chipping.
I actually havent had time to paint my nails lately so I have just been using that stuff as a clear coat and it is AWESOME. Super shiny, dries fast, and leaves them really strong so they are growing like crazy.
Have a fabulous weekend! Torrance’s mom leaves back to FL tomorrow afternoon so we will be spending some more time with her before she goes and then it will be back to the usual grind.
Oh and by the way, I really enjoyed reading all of your embarrassing stories/awkward moments from my post the other day!! Love it!
- Do you paint your own nails or do you get them done, or are you just au naturale?
I used to get manicures here and there until I realized if I did it myself (for almost free) it would last longer. I do it while I’m watching TV (since Im so antsy) because it is sort of relaxing and then gives me a chance to let them dry so I dont mess them up.
- What is something (anything!) you are obsessed with right now?
