Big Hail & Oops I Bought Too Much At Target (again)
Morning!
Let’s start at the beginning of the weekend shall we?
Friday
After work I headed to training, which I would like to refer to as “7 rounds of torture.” (Good torture of course).
Box jumps, dips, hurdles, ball slams, lateral overhead presses, and chest presses were all on the menu (along with about 5 other moves). We did everything at a really fast pace and it ended in a sweaty mess.
When I got home, Torrance had already eaten so I just whipped up a quick dinner of some chicken breast and mushrooms sautéed in balsamic, with a salad on the side.
Saturday
Saturday we actually ended up working over at Torrance’s uncle’s for a while. Nothing too eventful there. That is, until the storm came.
I had gotten multiple texts throughout the day from the weather.com alerts (when there is a weather alert for our city they text it to ya).
We are technically in a different city than Torrance’s uncles house so the weather does differ quite a bit. So while at our apartment there was severe thunderstorms all day, his uncle’s was bright and sunny – at least until later in the day.
This is the biggest hail I have seen in real life I think. I know to some of you it probably doesn’t look like a lot – but in Alaska there isnt a lot of hail or crazy thunderstorms in general (I’m sheltered remember).
Since we were in the shop (which is a big metal building) it was so loud. Torrance was standing next to me yelling and I still couldn’t hear him and the hail came down for a couple minutes straight, it was pretty crazy!
Sunday
I was woken up at 6:00 in the morning by the loudest, most intense thunder I have ever heard in my life. I can typically sleep through anything but this was just crazy. It was dark so I couldn’t see much but lightning going off nonstop. The thunder was actually rattling everything in our house. So crazy!
And never fails, everytime we have a crazy storm like this – fire trucks show up at our apartment complex. I don’t know if something actually happens, if we have a lightning alarm that prompts them to come (I didnt even know these existed until last week when my coworker told me about them) or if people are paranoid and just call them because shortly after a few loud thunder booms and close-looking lightning strikes, there were sirens and lights at a building near us.
After about an hour I ended up falling back asleep for a little while luckily.

Later in the afternoon, I decided I was going to head to Target to look for a new sports bra and get some cosmetics stuff I needed.
By the way, I am probably ridiculous for this because I always say “Target” like “Tar-jay,” like it’s French. It sounds fancier.
Well, I have confirmed for the 100th time that it is absolutely impossible to go to Target and leave with only what you went there for.
An hour later I left with a bunch of stuff. OopsIdiditagain.
I ended up leaving with some more workout gear…..
Oh, and some summer stuff (and some additional tank tops not pictured)
Target, you always win.

Once I got home, I ventured out again to get some grocery shopping done…
Which led to me baking these:
Recipe to come later on ![]()

Have a great Monday!
- Does it ever hail where you live?
- Are there any stores you go to and end up buying way more stuff than you went there for?
- What was the highlight of your weekend?

We get a lot of tornadoes in west TN, so along with that comes hail. I’ve seen about golf ball size before – scary stuff.
The highlight of my weekend was hanging out with Daniel on Saturday – we went out to lunch, did a little shopping, went to the movies, then met up with friends for dinner and a Starbucks night cap. It was perfect!
first of all, you arent the only one to say it like tar-jay..me and my friends do the same thing!
i have a target addiction problem, its really bad. kevin teases me all the time.
thats the sickest hail i’ve ever seen! what a crazy weekend weatherwise for you. our weekend here was really nice..it rained saturday night but I had a nice time with my sister and kevin, and alot of good food was eaten. cant get much better than that
haha oh im glad! target is just fabulous. there is some house stuff there i want to go back and get. that will be another beast for another day though haha
And the weather was crazy thats for sure! Now it is sunny and 80 of course!
Target is just simply irresistible!!!!!! The best part of my weekend was at like 8PM last night when Kevin finally finished his homework and we could hang. And eat cheesy salsa with red hot blues!
Target and Costco…pretty much can’t get out of either of them for less than $100. And I used to WORK at Target. That was a nightmare…only b/c pretty much my entire paycheck went there. HA! That hail is ginormous. I don’t think I have ever seen it that big! You are lucky your car didn’t get damaged or anything, but that stuff can do a lot of damage!
Yikes, I’ve never seen hail that size!! Craziness! :/
Target can definitely be a dangerous store. And any Whole Foods/Fresh Market store … there’s always so many fun things I want to try!
I have never seen hail like that wow! I did the same thing at Target yesterday – went in for Vitatops came out with those + new placemats!
mmm vitatops! it is weird i have never bought food from target! i apparently need to!
Costco always get us- it doesn’t help when the average price per item is around $1 sure its bulk- but do we really need 100 toothbrushes? ha it always amazes me!
Highlight of my weekend was my soccer game- I wasn’t too pumped about it cause it was at 9pm on Saturday, but I scored twice and we won by a lot- It was the best game of the season!
Whoa that’s crazy hail! Yes Target is both a money and time sucker. I could just walk around in there for like an hour but of course I will buy a bunch of stuff…
I’m like that at Target too, except with the food! It’s HORRIBLE– I go in for one thing, and walk out with a cart full of things that I got on “sale”.
Aaaand now you know why I never run out of Sunbutter..
