Just Hanging Out & Undercover Cops

I have been in such a weird daze this week… and frankly, I’ve just sorta been “hanging out” every night after work.

I think it is due to a mix of an injury throwing me a little off, and fighting off allergies. Hopefully I will be feeling up to par again soon!

In the meantime, since I havent been going to training this week (but may attempt it tonight), I have been bringing this little lady on lots of long walks to get some form of exercise in.

Luckily it has been super nice outside so walking is a little more enjoyable!

Since I havent been working out I have been sticking to my eating plan very well. I am still supposed to meet up with my trainer for lunch one day in the near future to go over everything in more detail, but this week has been a huge improvement.

That was dinner last night – which included some chicken breast tenders sautteed in balsamic, steamed broccoli, sliced tomatoes, and half of a baked potato topped with a little cheese and pepper.

So, dont tell your friends but I have yet to change my driver’s license and truck registration from Alaska to North Carolina.  I am just putting off going to the DMV because I am a procrastinator like that. But, this of course makes me paranoid of cops and getting a ticket because I think it is a pretty heft one.

I drive a whopping 1.5 miles to work everyday on a back road so I dont run into many, but lately there have been a couple around this area because there is some road construction going on and they were directing traffic.

Anyway, on my way to work this morning I was driving along and then had to do a double take because I realized that behind me, was an undercover officer that had gotten really close up on the back of my truck. Since they are likely to hassle me for my out-of-state tags, I get super nervous if their is a cop anywhere around me – otherwise I wouldnt be (I have been known to get out of many-a-ticket in my day).

So of course I just try to act cool (whatever that means). As I turned onto the street that my work is off of (and prayed that the cop didnt turn too)…. I realized that it was not a cop, but instead a little old lady. Phew. Close one, right?

And then, for laughs this morning (I do this a lot), I went onto #whatshouldwecallme and hit random – and this is the one that came up:

“When you think an undercover cop is behind you, but it turns out to be an old lady”

What a coincidence, that is just how I felt.

I have been obsessed with #whatshouldwecallme. (Thanks Alyssa). I feel that 90% of these are directly related to my life – especially pretty much any of them regarding food, drinking, or being clumsy and this little incident just further proves my point.

  • When you eat a baked potato, do you eat the skin too?
Not usually. Though I do like my mashed potatoes dirty (with skin)
  • What did you have for dinner last night?
  • Any weekend plans?

  1. if it makes you feel any better, i moved back to Tennessee 3.5 years ago after a brief stint in Arizona, + still haven’t change my Arizona license back to a TN one. i know – it’s horrifying! the DMW here is so horrendous that i’ve managed to put it off for, oh, 1000 days. really, i need to get on that soon!

  2. I sometimes eat the skin. Depends how I like the looks of it. Otherwise I feed it to Boyd. He loves potato skins!! Haha. Dinner last night was lasagna. Weekend plans — undecided! But sure to include a long run. And some Starbucks!

  3. At restaurants, I never eat the skin on the potato, but at home I usually do (typically because I’m starving haha). This weekend is quite busy for me – Friday night I get to be a part of a professional athletes game. Some NFL players are competing in a basketball game (how funny!) and all the money goes to a foundation that implements after school programs for inner city schools. I’m excited! Saturday – teach Zumba, birthday party for niece, then going away party for a friend.

I hate the DMV – almost as much as the social security office. I always procrastinate going!

  4. *sigh* i feel you on the injured front, i hope you feel better! I know that video gave me a much needed laugh today ;)

I used to feel so scared when a cop came up behind me in my old car because the inspection sticker was so expired and i had a taillight that would always blow out..LOL it makes me laugh thinking about it now but I guess there is some residual there because even in the new car I get a little nervous, haha!

  5. Dinner last night was a HUGE salad with lots of delicious vegetables, covered in Brianne’s Asiago Cheese Caesar dressing (so good). I also attempted to make a sandwich with tomato, avocado, and “bacon” tempeh … yeah, didn’t turn out so great. So then I just turned the avocado into guac and served with some chips haha. ;)
