A Little Hiking Trip
Morning!
I am tired on this Monday morning! We had a busy weekend. Starting with a really sweaty training session Friday night! And lots of wine followed shortly after.
I woke up really early Saturday to go do my grocery shopping at Walmart before all the crazies came out. Luckily it worked and I pretty much had the place to myself at 10 in the morning.
We then spent most of the remainder of Saturday working on Torrance’s tool truck. There was lots of cleaning and organizing to be done that has fallen to the wayside. Also his AC went out so they worked on that Saturday and part of Sunday because it is about to get hot out, and sitting in the tool truck for 10 hours a day with no AC is literally like sitting in a sauna.
But the best part – on Sunday we finally went hiking for a couple of hours.
We went out to Hanging Rock Park, which is about a 45 minute to 1 hour drive from where we are. It was so nice back there though!
We brought Kona, which actually proved to be a little bit of a pain. There were some really, really steep areas and she likes to pull. On the extra steep stuff Torrance ended up holding her because she would have definitely pulled my ass all the way down.
There are a ton of trails out there but we went on two that included the water falls. In the end, we ended up hiking about 5 miles. It was pretty slow because there was a lot of terrain so it felt like a long longer.
We are going to go back soon, without Kona to do the actual Hanging Rock trail where you can go out on the rock. It is quite a bit longer and heard from some other hikers there that it is a little more difficult trail and it would be hard to bring a dog on.
Can you tell who the photographer was on the trip?
Sadly, the shoes I wore proved to be a little slick on the wet rocks, so I didnt do a lot of climbing around near the waterfalls yesterday (noted, wear different shoes next time).
Oh and we had to do some defacing of property to show we were there… kidding. There was a wall dedicated to signed names. Everyone else was doing it so it was obviously ok, right?
Oh, and on our way out to the park we noticed a TON of motorcycles at a church, and then we saw a sign that advertised “Bike Sunday – Worship and free buffet!” I wish I had had my camera ready to get all the bikes out in front of the church, we did stop on the way back though, and even though everyone had left we still got a picture of the sign.
After our return, we got some frozen yogurt and did a little last work on his AC in his truck and then headed home to get the usual weekend stuff done.
And as usual, I did a little baking too…. recipe to come!
I hope everyone has a great Monday!

I love hiking, and I’ve found some pretty cool places in the Atlanta area.
This weekend was spent in Nashville, running a half marathon and then spending the rest of the weekend eating and complaining about my sore muscles haha!
