A Good Read & Traveling Alone
Good morning!
Just a quick hello today and actually really just wanted to share a cool read with ya.
I have been following Corinne’s blog for a while now that has mostly followed her weight loss journey (she has lost 50 lbs!), but more suspenseful, it has been leading up to a trip she is taking to Central America – alone!
She left yesterday for her trip and has written a few posts from her iPod touch to basically check in and share a few things - but she didnt bring her phone or laptop (so her posts may be scarce the next few weeks while she is there).
Seriously interesting stuff! I highly recommend checking it out. She is your average 21-year-old girl (from Canada) basically on an adventure and trying to learn a little about herself.
This post that she wrote the other day answers a few questions about her trip in general and then this one from a little over a month ago sort of outlines where she will be going in Central America. I also found this one about what she packed pretty interesting as well.

Have a good Thursday!
- Have you ever gone on a vacation by yourself? If not, would you ever?
I havent, besides just some work trips where I ventured out by myself but those were usually just a day or 2. I think I would maybe go somewhere by myself, but probably not a foreign country because I am a scaredy cat. - What foreign countries have you been to?
Just Canada and Caribbean areas (Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, etc)

wow, how interesting! I dont know if I would take a vacation by myself, i’m a little too much of a scaredy cat I think! but power to those who do
i’ve only been to canada and El Salvador (my dad is from there) but hopefully i’ll get to travel more soon!
I know! I WISH I was brave enough!
I flew to Florence, Italy on my own from Philadelphia (by way of Frankfurt, Germany). It was a little scary initially, but everyone I met tended to understand the plight of a lost 20 year old American girl. My only problem was lugging all that luggage!
I’ve been to Germany (at least, the airport), Italy, France, Belize, Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands, Canada, and am ABOUT to head to Costa Rica in a little more than a month!!
how awesome! Florence is where my moms family is in Italy! Would love to go there, I have some cousins there still!
Oooo… that’s brave. I’ve only ever been to the Domincian Republic. But I moved there without knowing anyone for three yars… so it was a pretty big adventure for shy me. I’m going to have to check out her blog!!
I actualyl thought of you while I was writing this! That is def a big adventure!
I checked out Corrine’s Blog
Wooohoo another Canadian!! Pretty Ballsy, not sure if I would be able to go on a trip by myself. She has come mad crazy packing skills WHAT WHAT!!

Have good rest of the week! XX

Wow, very interesting!! I’ve been to Mexico and Canada, France, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico (which I guess is technically part of the US!). But I didn’t go to ANY of those places alone!
I am such a weenie–I cannot even go to a movie alone let alone a country! I wish I could be that courageous! However, I also love sharing experiences with others, so I don’t know if I would like traveling alone.
My cousins live in France for 18 years so we were able to go to a bunch of different European countries–it was SO amazing. I have also done the whole Canada, Mexico, Bahamas thing. Nothing can quite compare to France and Switzerland.
I bet! I would love to go to Europe!
Very cool story. Love that women are feeling more empowered to travel and explore alone these days. Lets see the world, hear us roar!!! -Daniella
