It’s Been A Year!

I missed it last week…..

But as of August 2nd, this little blog has been around for a year!

Time flies doesn’t it?

So, what have I been doing you ask?

Last week was back to the norm!

I’ve been cooking again:

Salmon20

And even made some treats (recipe later… super easy to make!)

Smores

I’ve been working – a lot! I even got my professional portrait done the other day for my business card.

I was a little nervous how they would turn out, but I think it turned out okay. It definitely reminded me of picture day at school, minus the cheesy comb they gave you.

And last night I was finally back to training.

workout

After taking pretty much all of last month off, I was sore after going a couple times last week. It always takes me a few times to get all the way back into it!

We also spent some more time at the lake this weekend.

It was the first time we have gone lately and it wasn’t 100 degrees outside – so it was a little more comfortable to just sit on the boat, but the water was still perfect!

This week I plan on sharing some good eats, and I will be headed to training twice this week (because I have to work late two nights this week too) and then Friday we leave for Vegas! Woo hoo!

Have a great Monday – I’m off to get ready for work and make some breakfast!

  • Ever been to Vegas?
  • Any good eats over the weekend?
  • Any funny “picture day” memories/stories from school?
In elementary school, up until like 3rd grade, I was a major tom-boy but my mom always made me dress nice on picture day. One year I brought my most favorite shirt in the world (which was a shirt that had a basset hound on it! haha) that I changed into when I got to school. My mom was pissed when we got the pictures a month later and she made me do retakes.

  1. Hahahaha I love your basset hound picture story! Hilarious.

I had one of the best meals of my life over the weekend (seriously!) – we went to this Italian place in Memphis for Daniel’s birthday and I had chicken and asparagus ravioli (homemade pasta with imported Italian flour – yeah.) with walnut cream, pesto, pine nuts, and shaved Reggianno cheese. Paired with a glass of red, it was perfect.

  2. I’m not photogenic at all – so pretty much every picture taken of me is hilarious. I’ve been to Vegas twice and I loved it – I’m trying to go back in December. Let me know if you want any recommendations. Where are you staying?

  7. Wahoo, way to stick with it for a year! I realized that my little blog has just passed the 14 month mark without any real recognition, but maybe I’ll just save it for 18 months.

Love the sound of your puppy shirt fiasco, that’s too funny! Once, when I was about 6-7, I was riding my bike w/ my dad 2 weekends before school pictures and hit a GIANT rock. I flipped completely over my bike, landed smack dab on my face, and started aggressively bleeding. Luckily, pictures weren’t until next Friday, so at that point, my face wasn’t quite full of scabbiness, but was a lovely shade of blue/purple/yellow as the bruises healed. It’s probably my favorite school picture.

    • Hahaha love it! I used to have those straight across thick bangs too and my mom or sisters would trim them all crooked ugh. I was a mess!
