A Quick Weekend In Vegas
Well, sorry for the delay in this post.
I actually returned from Vegas with a cold… and when I take Nyquil (which I have been) it knocks me the F out and I wake up 10 minutes before I am supposed to be at work – true story.
Anyway, Vegas was fantastic and I cant wait to go back and get to do all the fun stuff. Since it was for a work trip (for Torrance’s company) we were sort of limited on time to do anything extra.
I am not going to do a big detailed post about it since a lot of it was work related and we didnt get to do a lot of "Vegassy" stuff but a few highlights for me included:
Seeing my BFF from high school.
She moved back to Vegas (from Alaska) about 4 years ago and I hadnt seen her since she left! I missed her so.
Slots. I loved the slot machines. I played a lot. And even won a little.
Drinks and activity everywhere. I love that it is just non stop and that just in the hotel alone (we stayed at South Point, which isnt on the main strip by the way) like a bunch of different bars, tons of gambling, a bunch of different restaurants, etc. all in one place! Too fun! Plus, for the convention we pretty much took over the hotel/casino since their were 6500 of us with the company there.
Food everywhere. It was like…
And also like…
All day everyday.
His company actually put on all the food for us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was all served up buffet style. Which I am one that prefers to eat local restaurants when I’m traveling and such and obviously dining is a big entertainment factor for me, but since we were running around a lot it worked out well to just grab the food when they served it.. plus it was pretty good and we didnt have to pay for it of course (major plus!)
The ZZ Top concert.
The company always does something semi-big for entertainment at these conventions and this year they opted to have ZZ Top come and do a private concert. They pretty much went all out that night and everything was decorated all rock star style, they set up mini bars everywhere in the "arena" area where they did the concert and it was just an amazing show! You guys know I am a sucker for old/classic rock though!

Like I said, I cant wait to go back and actually get to do some of the stuff Vegas is known for like see some of the shows, check out the strip, etc. I see a long weekend trip coming up in our future
I hoping to get over this cold soon so I can at least make it to training twice this week and work off all that food I ate (okay, and drinks) over the weekend! Ciao!
- Do you keep in touch with any of your high school friends?
- Ever been to any cool “old school” concerts?
- Does your company put on any cool gatherings/conferences that you get to attend?
Sadly mine doesn’t really, besides just the few of us in our little office once or twice a year!

Seeing the Rolling Stones in concert was amazing, and my mom was so jealous. And, since I’m now funemployed, I have no company or gatherings. BUT I have all of Philly at my fingertips. (Toe tips?)
I think I should go take a walk.
ahh rolling stones would be pretty cool!
Glad you had fun in Vegas! I only keep in touch with a few people from high school. Glad you got to see your friend – that gives you an excuse to go back to Vegas stat
Hey we stayed at South Pointe when we went to Vegas in March for the bball tourney. It was actually pretty fun. They must be big on conventions. It was good we had a car though so we could get to the strip easily. I hope you feel better soon!!
i still have yet to go to Vegas but I hope soon!
i still talk to a few HS friends, its pretty cool
My company does conferences but ive been here so long that theyve lost their magic on me, haha
Yep! It seems like its always like that, after a couple conferences at the same place with similar food and events it’s kinda like been there done that… Haha
I need to go to Vegas sometime!! SO fun. I talk to a few of my high school friends almost daily. Seriously. I wish I lived closer to at least one of them. Oh well. That’s what the internet is for!
Um does Beach Boys count as “Old School?” Haha! I went to a Beach Boys concert in 5th grade for my birthday. It was so fun!
Great post thanks for that. Greetings from Thailand. K
