It’s Wednesday, You Know What That Means…
Since I havent been blogging on a normal schedule (or regularly) lately, I am kind of liking ‘What I Ate Wednesdays.’
I’ve been eating lots of delicious stuff….
(Isn’t that colorful?)
Cous cous, asparagus, sliced tomatoes with balsamic, and tilapia (with lots of lemon!)
I actually don’t care for tilapia much (it’s like the hot dog of fish) but sometimes that is the best option at my grocery store when I’m craving fish!
Salad & alfredo (using my lighter alfredo sauce!) with chicken, peas, and mushrooms.
With the weather getting cooler (I guess?), I have been craving pasta like crazy.
And my love for Chobani is back – my Chobani snacking was on hiatus for a few weeks, but it’s back in the rotation again.
I’ve also been eating some froyo (just a little here and there…)
And I’m really lovin’ these too – late night sweet-tooth snack!
Skinny Cow “Best of Both Swirls” I highly recommend finding these delicious pieces of heaven in the freezer isle.

On another note (but still food related – of course…) I plan to head to the fair to eat some good stuff this weekend.
I was actually there yesterday for work [briefly, because we got rained out] and I saw the “booth” where they fry everything.
I always just walk by these booths because they gross me out honestly.
I’m not much of a “fried food” person either (I don’t really even like french fries that much!) but fried Snickers bar, fried oreos, fried twinkies (ewww)…. I don’t get it. That seems gross, though I have never tried any of that weird stuff so I guess I cant fairly judge.
What do you think?…..
- Ever tried any “weird” fried foods? What do you think about the weird fried food fad?
- Favorite “fair” food (or other carnivals, etc)
I actually love turkey legs, but I feel like a barbarian eating them. There is a delicious Greek stand at our fair here though that has amazing gyros that I am looking forward to!

The froyo looks good. But I am avoiding any dairy right now. DH just mentioned missing the Dixie Classic fair up in Winston. But I wasn’t a fan except of visiting the cows and goats. Have a good time!
The Kidless Kronicles
yeah, i pretty much just liek to go there and eat and lok at animals. i love the pigs and the goats!
I think the fried food fad is disgusting. But I love reading about it nonetheless! The most interesting one that one of the fairs I went to add fried butter. Come again?! That’s right. They literally FRIED BUTTER. At first I didn’t even understand how that was possible. But apparently they take a stick of butter and coat it really well in batter. Then. they. just. fry. it.
Apparently it tastes like buttered bread, but inside out. And a lot of times they had grape/strawberry jam, honey or cinnamon sugar.
Fried foods…sheesh. I saw a Paula Deen episode where she deep fried cake- CAKE! I think I tried a fried oreo once… My favorite carnival food is a shameful treat – corn dog! I just can’t resist them at the fair!
all of your meals look delicious!! i’m not a big fried foods person, but I will have a funnel cake from time to time (meaning once a yr, or every 2 yrs haha)
I tried a fried twinkie, it was not good.
I actually don’t like a lot of fair foods… except COTTON CANDY!
The hot dog of fish? I love tilapia but now I’m wondering if I shouldn’t! LOL
