Subway Salads & Callous Hands
Hola!
I hope everyone is doing well!
Can we just talk about how gorgeous fall is?
I just love the colors, and that bunch (from my work window) doesn’t even have a lot of red in it like other areas around my ‘hood. (<—– yes I just said that…weird).
Speaking of colorful roughage, I have been enjoying salads lately for lunch from Subway.
Look at that baby! I eat at Subway all the time, (I even worked there for 2 years in my high school days!) but just recently thought about getting a salad.
Why not? They have a “veggie bar?” I skip the repulsive iceberg lettuce though, and just opt for spinach. And it actually turns out delish!

Today I am curious to know, do you use gloves while strength training/weight lifting?
I currently do not use gloves while training, and I do have some minor callouses on my palms. But training on Friday night tore my hands up just in the one night because we did a ton of “grip” demand type stuff….hanging from monkey bars, using Olympic rings, rope climbing, etc.
It’s a little hard to see in the picture, but it was kind of gross and it was actually pretty sore.
I think I will be heading out to find some gloves soon!

- Do you use lifting gloves?
- What do you order when eating at Subway?

Hey!
I only use gloves when I go to the community gym. My sets of weights at home have sponge grips, so I don’t need it when working out at home. I can’t stand callouses. They do hurt!
When I go to Subway I always get the same thing; footlong sandwich, honey oat bread, turkey with extra cheese, toasted with only tomatoes, olives and cucumber. Top it off with a honey mustard sauce. Then I eat half of it immediately and save the other half for, like, 20 minutes later…

i LOVE fall, such a pretty time of the year!!
ive been majorly slacking with my weight training but I do have gloves that I use when I get time for a good session, you should def get some!
I dont eat much at subway but sometimes I crave it…i usually do just a simple 6 in turkey and cheese but with TONS of toppings
I’ve always wondered about Subway salads. Good tip to use the spinach. I get some pretty decent callouses from kettlebells, but have never used gloves.
yeah we do a lot of kettlebells and i think that is where my typical callouses are from but dang all that crazy stuff we did friday beat them up! Im gonna try out some gloves!!
Love the fall pic! And I sometimes use gloves… depends how I’m feeling/what I’m doing
I used to use gloves all the time. Now that I am getting back into weights I think I will use them again. I feel kind of silly when I’m in the gym (like I think I’m all bad or something) but they really work to keep calluses away! haha
It’s funny that you mention using gloves because I was just thinking the other day how I needed to start. My hands are looking a tad callous-y too
The fall picture reminds me of kale. Random, right?
When I was diligent about lifting, I did bite the bullet and get a pair of gloves. I didn’t want rough man-hands. I say go for it, they do make pink ones.
I bought rather inexpensive ones and while a tad bulky, they did help.
I don’t have any gloves currently, but I’ve been thinking of getting some. Fall is so gorgeous – those colors in the trees are what helped get me through my run last weekend!
Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year, I love everything about it and the colors just make the season easier to love
I always get a sandwich from Subway, turkey, ALL the veggies and mustard. Dang it, now I’m hungry…
I’m actually not a huge Subway fan. I used to eat it a lot in college, and I think I got sick of it. I prefer subs from Jersey Mikes, Which Wich, and Publix. But I usually order some type of turkey sub with honey mustard. Or at Jersey Mikes, I like their oil, vinegar, onion, and seasoning mix. Yum!
