Goblet Squats & A Clean Beaver
Morning!
I bet that title got you curious huh?
I hope everyone had a good Monday – ha! Totally kidding…rarely possible. I did however, have a couple decent things happen yesterday:
I got my new shoes in the mail.
They are the same New Balance WT20’s that I already own and love, just in a different color. I have been wanting to get another pair, and they were on sale for like $40 cheaper than usual – score!
So I put them to use in a sweaty workout last night.
Most un-flattering picture of me. ever. And does anyone else’s face get puffy after a workout?
Training last night was a good one – the focus was definitely on legs, butt, and hips – with some shoulders thrown in too.
We did a couple different squats. Squats with an overhead dumbbell press and also goblet squats with a kettle bell.
Remember when I very first started my training and I had some issues with my hips hurting (they hurt before I ever started my training program)? Which we also realized that I had problems with my form with squats (and a few other things) which was all connected. Anyway, as I mentioned a while back, my hip pain basically stopped as my trainer helped me to correct some stuff and last night I realized that I can finally do my squats with almost perfect form. Excellent! I know that doesnt sound that exciting, but it really is for me!
Out of the 9 different moves we did last night, I would say the goblet squats were my favorite. They were a very low, slow squat – and I definitely feel it today.
After that workout I figured I could finally eat some damn Alfredo I have been craving since this weekend because I figured I would wait and eat it on a day that I burned some serious calories.
I used my lightened up Alfredo sauce recipe. Look at all that broccoli and peas! I tried to load it with veggies and chicken and keep it light on the noodles and sauce. I also dont mix it all together so that the veggies and dont get smothered in sauce.
And I enjoyed it with some Alexa garlic bread – that stuff is my new favorite.
After I shoved my face dinner, I plopped down and read a couple magazines I have had stacking up. And if you follow me on Instagram (@andreaoutloud) you probably saw this but I seriously laughed. my. ass. off. when I saw this ad.
That is some serious marketing genius if I do say so myself.

Off to be productive (ew). Have a good day!
- Made any good fitness equipment/apparel purchases you are loving lately?
I finally bought myself a little something else that I will share soon too! - Weird question, but do you have any weird stuff after a workout – like puffiness, extra sweatiness, get really red, etc.
I notice lately I have been getting puffy, Im sure it has something to do with water intake/etc. And sometimes when we do stuff where I’m jumping around a lot I get a little acid reflux (ew). - What will be your workout tonight?
I’m going to try to get down to the apartment gym tonight and do some running. I’m kind of trying to psych myself up for it because Im not very excited about it.

My face always manages to get bright red when I workout.
A girl I work out with always complains about how her face and arms turn beat red! some people just do i think, i never even noticed until she pointed it out.
That is an awesome ad. It cracked me up. I couldn’t see the fine print so I had to look up the slogan fresh and sexy. Hilarious! Do you think it might work the other way? Like if I cleaned a piece of wood, would more beavers like it?
Haha I dunno? Only one way to find out?!
I am a big sweater. Yup, just have to embrace it. And then my hair does crazy things.
The Kidless Kronicles
I get super red tomato face. I hate it.
LMAO!!!! Can not stop laughing at that ad. Freaking awesome!
Hmmm . . . maybe I should start working on goblet squats . . . that is definitely a different variation than what I’m used to. I wonder if my hips would move like that though? lol. I might need to work on that part first.
When i started out doing them before I always tried to rush them (or not rush, but do usually “quicker” squats) and he had me do them really slow to help me get my form down and it seemed to help!
Ok, this may be TMI but my boobs swell up after workouts to the point where they hurt. No idea why but it lasts for up to a half hr! Anyone else…?
I havent heard that one yet!! But Im sure it happens to other people too!
So glad I stumbled upon your blog! My face turns bright red after I run, it is usually worse when i run inside on the treadmill.
Aw, welcome!! It sounds like faces turning really red is one of the most common “things!”
