A December To Remember….?
Somewhere I missed the memo on the fun “Holiday to do lists” or “December to Remember” or “winter fun list” extravaganza.
If you somehow missed this memo also, it is a fun to-do list of sorts of holiday/winter themed stuff. Cute. Something that is kind of right up my alley. I mean I love the holidays.
So here is mine:
Yep. I feel that in no way do I have time for any extra shenanigans this year. Quite frankly, I’m just trying to make it to the New Year this year.
That is lame sounding. I’m not usually one that just “wants to make it through” something. I try to really make the best of things usually– but really, I am just worn out right now.
Now I realize this sounds kind of negative, which obviously I am not (hello, extreme optimist) but really 2013 has just been quite the year and I dont want to take anything extra on at this point. Well, the first part of the year was fine, but come August things kind of went from la-dee-da to constant chaos. Between losing a friend and two family members, to a scare with Kona/many vet visit/surgery for her, and then some surprise surgery for me, it got crazy up in here. Obviously not complaining or looking for sympathy by any means – because such is life. Buuuuuut if I am not extra cheery and into making crafty snowman-shaped shit or sitting around drinking lots of hot chocolate this year, that is why.
So basically I’m just gonna make sure I get my usual stuff done that follows our usual traditions, and don’t lose my shit (aka: my mind) and make it to January 1. If I can do that, I will have succeeded.
There is just something so liberating about a New Year.
- Do you have a fun winter/holiday to-do list? If so, share something that’s on it!
- Do you see the New Year as a “fresh start?” Or is it just another day to you?
