A little Q&A
**Want to ask me a question? Feel free to contact me!**
Why did you start blogging?
For fun. I dont fit the mold of a lot of bloggers. It didnt really start like “I was super inspired” or “I used to have an eating disorder/identity criss/etc and wanted to share my story” or “I lost a bunch of weight!” Yeah, I know, maybe this makes me kind of boring. But really I like to write, tell stories, and share stuff – so blogging is a blast for me!
Okay… so why the name “Andrea Out Loud!” ?
Well, it is no secret I have a hard time coming up with titles for posts, let alone one for my whole page. Anything I came up with was already taken or just wasnt fitting for a blog. (“I like to eat a lot, drink wine, and embarass myself” was already taken).
If your best friend were introducing you to me for the first time what would she say about you?
“This is my friend Andrea and she talks a lot and always has her nails painted fun colors.” Something along those lines I think.
Do you feel you have any strong personality traits – if so, what are they?
Everyone has strong personality traits! I would say mine are that I talk a lot, I have absolutely no problem being blunt. Hey, I’m a realist.
You and Torrance have been together for so long! Is marriage/kids in your near future?
Marriage, yes… kids however, no. I am secretly (ok, obviously not secret anymore) hoping to elope. I dont want to plan a wedding!
What was it like living in Alaska and what do you miss most ? What do you miss the least?
I liked it, but it was too sheltered. The short version is, there is too much winter and not enough summer. The summers there are absolutely perfect because the average is 70′s. The biggest thing I miss are the people – specifically, my friends. Also, I miss 24 hours of daylight in the summer months. It is amazing – though to a lot of people that sounds weird. The thing I don’t (or won’t) miss is definitely the cold winters. When it is 20 degrees below zero, everything is just difficult. I go in more depth about why we moved and the contrasts here.
What kind of music do you like?
I really like classic rock, newer rock, some rap, and I just recently started listening to country. I used to hate country but in preparation for our move to NC I figured I better give it another shot, turns out I like it (well….some of it)
How much water do you drink daily?
Around 120 oz per day. And because I know you are wondering, yes, I pee a lot.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
“Grew up” haaaaaa…. Well I wanted to be a bartender for a while, and then for a long time I wanted to be an interior decorator. Until I realized…. I hate decorating.
How often do you exercise?
Currently I attend my group fitness training program 3 times a week and throw in a run sometimes on the weekend (if things go as planned). I consider myself pretty active though as I am always out and about, walking the dog, etc.
Why dont you like running?
I just like, have no stamina and I feel like I am going to die. And afterward it does feel kind of good, you are right…. but I just havent learned to love it yet… I’m still trying though.
What foods are you allergic to? What happens?
I touched on this in my Food section, but I am allergic to some fruits and veggies. Mostly the raw versions of them. Some of them include: apples, peaches, pears, carrots, celery, strawberries, kiwi, mangoes. I wrote an in-depth post about my food allergies that you can read here.
How would you explain your eating habits?
In short, I love food, and I do eat a lot. I’ve recently converted from being a “3 meals” kind of girl to a 3 smaller meals with lots of snacks :) Im working on cleaning it up a little (e.g. less processed stuff)
What’s your favorite food?
Tough one….. but honestly I like a really good, excellent cut of steak.
I actually really prefer whites over reds. And I like a good Riesling or Sauvignon Blanc.
What do you do for fun?
I adore the outdoors. Anything to do with camping, being at the lake, beach, etc is my ideal fun time. Buuuut… I have been known to stay in my pajamas all day on a Saturday watching Sex & The City marathons with magazines and downing a bottle of wine. It’s the simple things in life.
