About
Hey – I’m Andrea.
I was born and raised in Alaska.
But recently (Summer of 2011), I picked up and moved across the country to North Carolina; it was time for a change. (You can read the full story about my move here if interested).
I am:
Italian.
A realist.
Loud.
An opportunist.
A major foodie.
A lover of lifting weights.
A dog person.
A fashion lover.
A lover of the outdoors….
…and of traveling.
An over-drinker of wine.
Overly talkative.
Impatient.
Caring.
Truthful.
Someone with a short attention span.
Good cook.
A bad singer.
I am not:
A lover of spicy foods.
Shy.
A lover of yoga.
Someone who enjoys doing their hair and makeup.
A cat person.
A fan of going shopping.
A Negative Nancy.
Creative or artsy.
A runner (I wish).
Tall.
Overly sensitive.
Graceful.

I started this blog as a hobby to share some fun stuff, ideas, and ridiculous stories. And though I classify this as a “health, food, and lifestyle blog” I’m not a typical “health blogger” – I have no awesome credentials or touching story about losing weight or struggles with my health in the past; I share a lot of recipes that still have some naughty things in them (like real sugar… gasp), and I love some red meat. I’m just a girl who adores food (like, a lot), working out, having fun, and is trying to live a healthy lifestyle.
By day, I sell insurance – I’ve been doing this for about 8 years now and I actually really do enjoy it. By the weekend, I’m a lover of everything outdoors…and some other stuff too (like trashy sitcoms on TV).
Luckily, I have a pretty awesome boyfriend of 10 years who shares the same interests (besides the trashy sitcoms)….. and we also have an adorable, bossy, brown dog.
I have a pretty cool family too incase you were wondering.
I’m the baby of the fam. Sadly, we all live far away from each other – my parents own and run a small restaurant and resort in Belize, and one sister lives in California, while the other is up in Alaska.

So, now that you have an idea of what I’m all about – enjoy the blog!
If you’re still feelin’ nosey (kidding…kind of) head over to my “A Foodie At Heart” section, check out some Q&A, or even read about our move from Alaska (seriously, there were a lot of cool sights, detours, and tears on our 13 day trip).
It’s okay, don’t be scared.
Oh, and if you’re new around here; head over to my “The Best Of…” section to check out a collection of some of mine and other readers’ favorite posts around here!

Is the Alaska / North Carolina move a common thing? I have a girlfriend who grew up in Homer, but now lives Raleigh
Funny! About a year after we moved here, my old roommate moved from Alaska to Wilmington also, very strange! Weird coincidence I guess, haha!
